§ 82. Procedures relating to assaults on employees responsible for\nenforcement of certain regulations in the city of New York. 1. The\nmayor of the city of New York shall establish a procedure for\ndetermining whether an employee of such city enforcing certain\nregulations in such city suffered an injury in performance of his or her\nduties as a result of the commission of any of the following offenses:\nassault as defined in article one hundred twenty of the penal law,\nmenacing as defined in section 120.15 of such law or harassment as\ndefined in subdivision one of section 240.25 of such law. Provided,\nhowever, that such procedure shall not be heard in the first instance or\nreviewed subsequently thereto by an officer, employee or agent of the\ndepartment in which such employee is employed.\n 2. For the purposes of this section, an employee of the city of New\nYork responsible for enforcing certain regulations in such city shall\nmean a traffic enforcement agent or an employee of the department of\nsanitation who is authorized to issue notices of violation, summons or\nappearance tickets.\n
