§ 704. Severablilty. If any clause, sentence, paragraph, subdivision,\nsection, or other part of this chapter shall be adjudged by any court of\ncompetent jurisdiction to be invalid, such judgment, decree or order\nshall not affect, impair or invalidate the remainder thereof, but shall\nbe confined in its operation to the clause, sentence, paragraph,\nsubdivision, section or other part thereof, directly involved in the\ncontroversy in which such judgment, or order shall have been rendered,\nand to this end the provisions of each section of this chapter are\nhereby declared to be severable.\n
