N.Y. Exec. Law § 66

§ 66. Destruction of certain records, books and other data by the\nattorney-general. In any action or proceeding or by other process of\nlaw, in which a money judgment or award shall have been procured in\nfavor of the people of the state of New York, any department of the\nstate of New York, or duly constituted division, bureau or board\nthereof, and which judgment or award has been duly paid and satisfied,\nthe department of law, with the consent of the commissioner of education\nas provided by section one hundred forty-seven of the education law, may\nafter the expiration of six years from the time of payment of said\njudgment or award destroy all statistics, documents and papers filed\nwith or used by the department of law in procuring said judgment or\naward.\n
