N.Y. Gen. Bus. Law § 872

§ 872. Prohibitions. No person, firm, corporation or agent or employee\nthereof shall import, manufacture, sell, hold for sale or distribute\nwithin the state any imitation weapon unless such device is imported,\nmanufactured, sold, held for sale and distributed:\n 1. solely for subsequent transportation in interstate commerce; or\n 2. solely for lawful use in a theatrical production, including a\nmotion picture, television or stage production.\n
