§ 165-a. Power of supreme court justices in Dutchess county to appoint\nlaw stenographers and typists. The justice or justices of the supreme\ncourt residing in Dutchess county, or a majority of them, may appoint\nand at pleasure remove and prescribe the duties of a confidential law\nstenographer and typist, who shall receive such compensation as may be\nfixed by the board of supervisors of such county. Such compensation\nshall be a charge against such county and shall be paid by the treasurer\nthereof in monthly installments upon the certificate of any such justice\nor, if all such justices have died or are disabled, of the Dutchess\ncounty judge or Dutchess county surrogate.\n
