§ 172. Power of supreme court justices residing in Kings and Queens\ncounties to appoint interpreters. A majority of the justices of the\nsupreme court for the second judicial district, residing in the county\nof Kings and a majority of the justices of the supreme court for the\neleventh judicial district, residing in the county of Queens, may\nrespectively appoint an interpreter or interpreters to attend the terms\nof the supreme court in each of the counties of Kings and Queens. The\nappointing justices shall fix the salaries of such interpreters who\nshall hold office during good behavior.\n
