Incapacity, disqualification or absence of the county judges of Suffolk, Dutchess, Ulster and Schenectady counties

§ 193. Incapacity, disqualification or absence of the county judges of\nSuffolk, Dutchess, Ulster and Schenectady counties. If the county judge\nof Suffolk county, Dutchess county, Ulster county or Schenectady county\nis for any reason incapacitated, disqualified, or incapable to act in an\naction or special proceeding or other matter pending or about to be\ninstituted in the county court of his county, or before him, or if he is\nfor any reason absent from his county, then the action or special\nproceeding or other matter may be continued or instituted before either\na justice of the supreme court within the same judicial district as the\ncounty judge or the surrogate of the county, who shall possess the same\npower and authority in the action or special proceeding or other matter\nwhich the county judge possesses in a like action or proceeding or\nmatter brought in the county court.\n
