N.Y. Jud. Law § 213

§ 213. Functions of the administrative board of the courts. 1. The\nadministrative board shall consult with the chief judge with respect to\nthe establishment of administrative standards and policies for general\napplication throughout the state, in accordance with section\ntwenty-eight of article six of the constitution.\n 2. The administrative board shall have the powers of advice and\nconsent with respect to: (a) the appointment of a chief administrator of\nthe courts, as provided in section twenty-eight of article six of the\nconstitution; and (b) pursuant to the provisions of section thirty of\narticle six of the constitution, the adoption of rules regulating\npractice and procedure in the courts by the chief administrator as\nauthorized by law.\n 3. The administrative board shall have such other consultative\nfunctions as may be required by the chief judge.\n
