§ 214-a. Functions of the judicial conference. The judicial conference\nshall:\n 1. study and recommend changes in laws, statutes and rules relating to\ncivil, criminal and family law practice which, in its opinion, will\npromote simplicity in procedure, the just determination of cases and\ncontroversies, and the elimination of unjustifiable expense and delay in\nlitigation in the unified court system; and\n 2. advise the chief administrator with respect to the establishment of\neducational programs, seminars and institutes for the judicial and\nnonjudicial personnel of the unified court system; and\n 3. consult with the chief judge and the chief administrator, as they\nmay require, with respect to the administration and operation of the\nunified court system.\n
