§ 177-a. Authorization of municipal corporations to convey or lease to\nthe state real property for armories and other military purposes and to\nacquire real property for such purposes. Whenever the title to any real\nproperty required for an armory, camp, range, base, building, structure\nor other facility or purpose for the organized militia, is vested in a\ncounty, city, town or village, such county, city, town or village may\ngrant, convey, lease and release such real property, together with any\nbuildings thereon, to the state, with or without consideration, and\nwithout prior notice, public sale or referendum, notwithstanding any\ninconsistent provision of this chapter or of any general, special or\nlocal law or of any city charter; provided, however, that any lease to\nthe state under this section for the purpose of armory construction\nshall be without cost to the state. Notwithstanding any inconsistent\nprovision of this chapter or of any general, special or local law or of\nany city charter, and without prior notice or referendum, any county,\ncity, town or village is hereby specifically authorized to acquire any\nproperty for the purpose of conveying or leasing the same to the state\nin accordance with the provisions of this section.\n
