N.Y. Penal Law § 125.11

§ 125.11 Aggravated criminally negligent homicide.\n A person is guilty of aggravated criminally negligent homicide when,\nwith criminal negligence, he or she causes the death of a police officer\nor peace officer where such officer was in the course of performing his\nor her official duties and the defendant knew or reasonably should have\nknown that such victim was a police officer or peace officer.\n Aggravated criminally negligent homicide is a class C felony.\n
