§ 55.05 Classifications of felonies and misdemeanors.\n 1. Felonies. Felonies are classified, for the purpose of sentence,\ninto five categories as follows:\n (a) Class A felonies;\n (b) Class B felonies;\n (c) Class C felonies;\n (d) Class D felonies; and\n (e) Class E felonies.\n Class A felonies are subclassified, for the purpose of sentence, into\ntwo categories as follows: subclass I and subclass II, to be known as\nclass A-I and class A-II felonies, respectively.\n 2. Misdemeanors. Misdemeanors are classified, for the purpose of\nsentence, into three categories as follows:\n (a) Class A misdemeanors;\n (b) Class B misdemeanors; and\n (c) Unclassified misdemeanors.\n
