N.Y. Rapid Transit Law § 54

§ 54. Disposition of maps. The corporation counsel shall cause one of\nthe maps or plans, so transmitted to him, to be filed in the office of\nthe register of the county, or if there be no such register, then in the\noffice of the county clerk of the county in which the property covered\nby the map is situated. The map, hereinafter denominated the third map,\nbeing the second of the two transmitted to the corporation counsel,\nshall be disposed of as provided in section sixty-five of this chapter.\n
