Ohio Rev. Code Ann. § 4141.292

State disaster unemployment benefit payment

An individual suffering total or partial unemployment directly attributable to a major disaster declared by the president of the United States pursuant to the "Disaster Relief Act of 1974," 88 Stat. 143, 42 U.S.C. 5121, who is not eligible to be paid unemployment compensation benefits under this chapter or any other state or federal unemployment compensation law for the first week of the individual's unemployment caused by the disaster is eligible to be paid a state disaster unemployment benefit payment for that week.

The director shall compute the state disaster unemployment benefit payment as if the individual was otherwise qualified and claiming weekly unemployment compensation benefits under this chapter. The director shall pay the state disaster unemployment benefit payment from the unemployment compensation special administrative fund created in section 4141.11 of the Revised Code. The director shall maintain appropriate records of payments made under this section.
