An optometrist licensed by the state vision professionals board shall promptly report to the board any instance of a clinically significant drug-induced side effect in a patient due to the optometrist's administering, employing, applying, or prescribing a topical ocular or therapeutic pharmaceutical agent to or for the patient. The board, by rule adopted in accordance with Chapter 119. of the Revised Code, shall establish reporting procedures and specify the types of side effects to be reported. The information provided to the board shall not include the name of or any identifying information about the patient.
