Assisting employees affected by electric industry restructuring

Effective: September 30, 2025; Latest Legislation: House Bill 96 - 136th General Assembly

(A) Each state agency that provides employment assistance and job training programs, including the department of job and family services, shall provide concentrated attention through those programs to assisting employees whose employment is affected by electric industry restructuring under this chapter.

(B) To the extent not prohibited by federal law or any law of this state and except as otherwise provided in a labor contract or other agreement, no unencumbered money in a pension fund for employees of electric utilities shall be used for any purpose other than to pay allowable pensions or early retirement buyouts for the employees.
