Ohio Rev. Code Ann. § 5126.222

Service and support administrator and supervisor training

Effective: September 30, 2025; Latest Legislation: House Bill 96 - 136th General Assembly

(A) A superintendent of a county board of developmental disabilities shall ensure that a service and support administrator, a conditional status service and support administrator, and a service and support administration supervisor successfully completes a web-based training program established by the department of developmental disabilities not later than thirty days after being hired. The training shall include all of the following topics:

(1) Empowering individuals serviced through the development of person-centered individual service plans;

(2) Coordinating services;

(3) Enhancing team effectiveness;

(4) Understanding medicaid;

(5) An overview of ICFs/IID;

(6) An overview of medicaid home and community-based services waivers administered by the department of developmental disabilities and county boards of developmental disabilities, including self-directed services, budget authority, and employer authority;

(7) Targeted case management;

(8) Employment navigation.

(B) Before a superintendent of a county board of developmental disabilities renews the certification of a service and support administrator or service and support administration supervisor, the superintendent shall ensure that the renewal applicant has successfully completed the training program described in division (A) of this section.
