Ohio Rev. Code Ann. § 6151.01

Power of county commissioners to straighten watercourses

Effective: October 1, 1953; Latest Legislation: Senate Bill 361 - 100th General Assembly

When in its opinion it is necessary or advisable, in order to provide proper protection or a proper location for a proposed bridge or road, the board of county commissioners may divert, alter, straighten, or clean out a river, creek, or other watercourse, and for such purpose may acquire the necessary property and settle all claims for damages of any persons interested. The expenses so incurred shall be payable out of the funds provided for the protection or construction of said bridge or road.
