Reward for making appointment or deputation

R.L. 1910, § 2158

Any public officer who, for any gratuity or reward, appoints another person to a public office, or permits another person to exercise, perform or discharge any of the prerogatives or duties of his office, shall be guilty of a Class D3 felony offense punishable by imprisonment as provided for in subsections B through F of Section 20P of this title, and by a fine of not less than Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) or more than One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00); and in addition thereto the public officer forfeits office.
