Legislative review of child support guidelines and schedule of basic child support obligations

A. The child support guidelines and schedule of basic child support obligations shall be reviewed at least once every four (4) years by the Judiciary Committees of the Senate and the House of Representatives to ensure that their application results in the determination of appropriate child support award amounts. B. In conducting the review required pursuant to subsection A of this section, the Judiciary Committees shall:

1. Obtain from the Title IV-D Child Support Program in the Department of Human Services economic data on the cost of raising a child, labor market data, case data and case analysis. The Department shall promulgate rules as needed to implement the provisions of this paragraph;

2. Provide opportunity for public input from persons including, but not limited to, low-income custodial and noncustodial parents and their representatives; and 3. Publish on the official websites of the Senate and the House of Representatives information related to the review including, but not limited to, the membership of the committees conducting the review, the effective date of the guidelines and the date of the next review.
