An employee in the classified civil service who has been duly dismissed for cause shall not be eligible for an assessment for appointment without the approval of the civil service board. Approval shall not be granted unless the board on evidence presented by applicant finds that the condition resulting in dismissal has been corrected and is unlikely to recur.
