ORS 448.123

Known as the Oregon Drinking Water Quality Act

The act spans §§ 448–448 (94 sections).

(1) It is the purpose of ORS 448.119 to 448.285, 454.235 and 454.255 to:

(a) Ensure that all Oregonians have safe drinking water.

(b) Provide a simple and effective regulatory program for drinking water systems.

(c) Provide a means to improve inadequate drinking water systems.

(2) In carrying out the purpose set forth in subsection (1) of this section, the Oregon Health Authority shall act in accordance with the goal set forth in ORS 468B.155.

(3) If, in carrying out any duty prescribed by law, the authority acquires information related to ground water quality in Oregon, the authority shall forward a copy of the information to the centralized repository established pursuant to ORS 468B.167.
