ORS 453.386

Known as the Community Right to Know and Protection Act

(1) In order to accomplish the purposes of ORS 453.374 to 453.390, the State Fire Marshal may lend equipment and personnel and make grants for the purchase of equipment and for personnel costs, as funds are available, to any local government participating in the statewide hazardous material emergency response system.

(2) In allocating state equipment and personnel grants under ORS 453.374 to 453.390, the State Fire Marshal may provide up to 90 percent of the financing for the equipment and personnel. A local government receiving grant moneys shall contribute at least 10 percent to the costs. Such contribution may be in a form agreed upon by the local government and the State Fire Marshal and may include, but need not be limited to, providing emergency response to areas outside the local jurisdiction, paying of insurance costs of the equipment or providing maintenance for the equipment.
