ORS 476.240

Known as the Emergency Conflagration Act

If the Superintendent of State Police or an authorized assistant is of the opinion that there is evidence sufficient to charge a person with arson, burning with intent to defraud or prejudice the insurer, or a similar crime, the Superintendent of State Police or authorized assistant shall furnish the district attorney with such evidence, with the names of witnesses and a copy of material testimony taken in the case, and request the district attorney to cause the arrest of such person or take such other action as the district attorney deems necessary or advisable.
