(a) Any person convicted of any offense under §§ 11-52.3-2 and 11-52.3-4, if the value of the property is less than five hundred dollars ($500), shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be imprisoned for not more than one year, or by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000), or both. If the property has a value of five hundred dollars ($500) or more, the person shall be guilty of a felony, and shall be imprisoned for not more than ten (10) years, or by a fine of not more than five thousand dollars ($5,000), or both.
