R.I. Gen. Laws § 37-2-5

Severability — Construction against implicit repealer

P.L. 1989, ch. 526, § 2.

(a) If any provision of this chapter or application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, that invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of this chapter which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to that end the provisions of this chapter are declared to be severable.

(b) Since this chapter is a general act intended to provide model coverage of its subject matter, no part of it shall be deemed to be impliedly repealed by subsequent legislation.
