R.I. Gen. Laws § 5-37.3-6.3

Exceptions

Known as the Confidentiality of Health Care Information Act

The act spans §§ 5-37.3-1 to 5-37.3-9 (16 sections).

(a) Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to interfere with the rights to confrontation and compulsory process secured to a defendant in a criminal prosecution pursuant to the state and federal constitutions.

(b) This chapter shall not be construed to interfere with any federal laws or regulations that provide more extensive protection than provided in this chapter for the confidentiality of healthcare information.
