Tenn. Code Ann. § 2-10-103

Duties of county election commissions

Known as the Election Code

(1) It is the duty of each county election commission to: Accept and file any information filed pursuant to the requirements of this part and information voluntarily supplied that exceeds the requirements of this part;

(2) Make statements and other information filed with it available for public inspection and copying during regular office hours at reasonable expense;

(3) Preserve such statements and other information for a period of five (5) years from date of receipt; and

(4) Notify all candidates for local public office in a local election of the requirements for filing any statement required by this part seven (7) days before any deadline provided for herein.

(5) It is the duty of the state election commission to furnish the name and address of any candidate for statewide public office and the language of any measure submitted to the people of the entire state to the secretary of state and the registry of election finance.
