Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-3-704

Divisions — Creation

(1) There are created within the department of economic and community development the following divisions: The administrative and support services division;

(2) The industrial development division; and

(3) [Deleted by 2016 amendment.]

(4) The commissioner is authorized, with the consent of the governor, to appoint directors of these divisions, to combine, consolidate, or abolish any of these divisions, or to create such new divisions as are necessary to carry out the duties imposed upon the commissioner and this department.
