Tenn. Code Ann. § 47-2A-111

Applicability of chapter

Known as the Uniform Commercial Code

The act spans §§ 47-1-101 to 47-9-809 (578 sections).

(1) This chapter shall apply to all leases entered into on or after July 1, 1994. For purposes of this section: Leases that are materially modified or amended in writing on or after July 1, 1994, shall be deemed to have been entered into as of the date of such amendment unless the amendment expressly states otherwise;

(2) Each separate schedule or supplement evidencing the leasing of additional items under a master lease agreement shall be deemed to be a separate lease; and

(3) A modification or amendment to a master lease agreement shall apply to all schedules or supplements thereto unless expressly or manifestly applicable to fewer than all.

(4) This chapter may be used for guidance in construing leases entered into before July 1, 1994, to the extent that it is not inconsistent with the law of this state existing prior to July 1, 1994.
