Tenn. Code Ann. § 53-8-206

Permits — Expiration — Transfer not allowed — Display

Acts 2013, ch. 182, § 6.

(1) No person shall operate a food establishment who does not hold a valid permit issued to the person by the commissioner on or before July 1 of each year, or as the commissioner may otherwise provide by rule and regulation.

(2) Every person now engaged in the business of operating a food establishment, and every person who, on July 1, 2015, engages in such a business, shall procure a permit from the commissioner for each food establishment so operated or proposed to be operated.

(3) Each permit for food establishments shall expire on June 30 following its issuance or as the commissioner may otherwise provide by rule and regulation.

(4) No permit shall be transferred from one (1) location or person to another.

(5) The permit shall be kept and displayed in a conspicuous manner, and visible to the public in the food establishment for which it is issued.
