Tenn. Code Ann. § 55-10-119

Detaining drivers involved in accidents involving serious bodily injury or death if driver does not have valid driver license and evidence of financial responsibility

Acts 2012, ch. 737, § 1.

An officer shall detain a driver without a warrant, as provided in § 40-7-103, and bring the driver before a committing magistrate if the driver:

(1) Is involved in an accident resulting in: Serious bodily injury, as defined in § 55-50-502; or

(2) Death; and

(3) Does not have a valid driver license; and

(4) Does not have evidence of financial responsibility as required by § 55-12-139.
