Licenses of persons under or attaining twenty-one

Known as the Uniform Classified and Commercial Driver License Act

The act spans §§ 55-50-101 to 55-50-902 (79 sections).

(1) If the licensee is less than twenty-one (21) years of age, the license shall: Bear the language “Under 21 Driver License”;

(2) Be printed in a vertical or portrait format; and

(3) Contain other secure features identifying the licensee as being under twenty-one (21) years of age.

(4) Upon attaining the age of twenty-one (21) years, any licensee may obtain a license printed in a horizontal or landscape format without the language required under subdivision (a)(1) by paying the fee for a duplicate license. However, no person shall be required to obtain the duplicate license, until the license expires.
