(1) The treasurer shall pay or deliver property to a claimant under § 66-29-152: If the treasurer receives evidence sufficient to establish to the reasonable satisfaction of the treasurer that the claimant is the owner of the property; or
(2) Upon order of a court in accordance with § 66-29-155.
(3) Not later than ninety (90) days after a claim is filed under § 66-29-152, the treasurer shall approve or deny the claim and give the claimant notice of the decision in a record. If the claim is denied: The treasurer shall inform the claimant of the reason for the denial and specify what additional evidence, if any, is required for the claim to be approved;
(4) The claimant may file an amended claim with the treasurer or commence an action under § 66-29-155; and
(5) The treasurer shall treat an amended claim as an initial claim filed under § 66-29-152.
