Form of ballot — Qualifications of voters — Filing results

Known as the Watershed District Act

(1) The vote at such election shall be by ballot, and such ballot shall comply with the usual requirements for an official ballot for public office insofar as such requirements are applicable. Upon such ballot shall be printed the following question: Shall the board of directors of the proposed Watershed District proceed with the creation of the district in accordance with the Watershed District Act of 1955? Yes ♦ No ♦. To vote for the proposal, the voter shall make a cross mark (x) in the square after the word “yes.” To vote against the proposal, the voter shall make a cross mark (x) in the square after the word “no.”

(2) Any person who is qualified to vote in accordance with the definitions contained in this chapter shall be entitled to vote.

(3) The ballots shall be counted by the judges and clerks holding the election before leaving the polling place, and the results of the election shall be certified by the judges and clerks to the secretary of state. Members of the board and any landowner in the proposed district shall be entitled to be present when the ballots are counted.

(4) The ballots and a copy of the certificate shall be filed with the county clerk in every county where such an election is held.
