Upon producing the certificate of election before the county legislative body, at the next session after the date and delivery of the certificate, the county trustee may enter upon the discharge of the duties of the office, after first giving bond, and taking an oath to support the constitutions of the state and of the United States, and an oath for the faithful performance of the duties of the office. The bond shall be prepared in accordance with chapter 19 of this title, approved by the county legislative body, recorded in the office of the county register of deeds and transmitted to the office of the county clerk for safekeeping.
