Tenn. Code Ann. § 8-14-401

Fiscal officer

Acts 1991, ch. 345, § 6; 1996, ch. 610, § 4; T.C.A § 8-14-501.

(1) Whereas the various district public defenders may be entitled to receive funding from various local, state and federal government sources, and private donors, and an orderly system for receiving and disbursing same is necessary, the district public defenders are hereby authorized and empowered to designate the executive director of the district public defenders conference as the fiscal officer for the judicial district served by a district public defender.

(2) The executive director, or the executive director's designee, is hereby authorized and empowered to receive and disburse funds so received for any lawful purpose not inconsistent with this part, subject to the guidelines established by the district public defenders conference.
