(1) The person filling an office temporarily under authority of this part shall be entitled to and shall receive the salary attached to the office, payable out of the funds provided for that purpose.
(2) The person shall discharge the duties of the office and be clothed with all the power and authority of the regular officer in whose place the person is serving, and be entitled to the same privileges and emoluments as the regular officer.
