A brewer or distributor directly or indirectly, or through a subsidiary, affiliate, agent, employee, officer, director, or firm member, may not give or permit to be given money or any thing of value in an effort to induce agents, employees, or representatives of customers or prospective customers to influence their employers or principals to purchase or contract to purchase brewery products from the brewer or distributor or to refrain from buying those products from other persons.
