Tex. Gov't Code § 526.0251

RULES

Added by Acts 2023, 88th Leg., R.S., Ch. 769 (H.B. 4611), Sec. 1.01, eff

The executive commissioner shall adopt rules providing for:

(1) a standard definition of "uncompensated hospital care";

(2) a methodology for hospitals in this state to use in computing the cost of uncompensated hospital care that incorporates a standard set of adjustments to a hospital's initial computation of the cost that accounts for all funding streams that:

(A) are not patient-specific; and

(B) are used to offset the hospital's initially computed amount of uncompensated hospital care; and

(3) procedures for hospitals to use in reporting the cost of uncompensated hospital care to the commission and in analyzing that cost, which may include procedures by which the commission may periodically verify the completeness and accuracy of the reported information.
