To the extent allowed by federal law, an advanced practice registered nurse or physician assistant acting under adequate physician supervision and to whom a physician has delegated the authority to prescribe and order drugs and devices under Chapter 157, Occupations Code, may order and prescribe durable medical equipment and supplies under the medical assistance program.
