A protective services agency may furnish protective services to an elderly person or person with a disability with the person's consent or to a relative or caretaker of the person on behalf of the person with the relative's or caregiver's consent or, if the elderly person or person with a disability lacks the capacity to consent, without that person's consent as provided by this chapter.
