The act spans §§ 591.001 to 597.054 (170 sections).

(a) This chapter does not apply to decisions for the following:
(1) experimental research;
(2) abortion;
(3) sterilization;
(4) management of client funds; and
(5) electroconvulsive treatment.
(b) This chapter does not apply to campus-based facilities operated by the department.
