Tex. Ins. Code § 36.109

RENEWAL EXTENSION FOR CERTAIN PERSONS PERFORMING MILITARY SERVICE

(a) The department may extend the renewal period for a license, permit, certificate of authority, certificate of registration, or other authorization issued by the department to engage in an activity regulated under this code or other insurance laws of this state for a person who is unable in a timely manner to comply with renewal requirements, including any applicable continuing education requirements, because the person was on active duty in a combat theater of operations in the United States armed forces.

(b) A person must submit a written application for an extension under this section to the department.

(c) The department shall exempt a person who receives an extension under this section from any increased fee or other penalty otherwise imposed for failure to renew in a timely manner.

(d) The commissioner may adopt rules as necessary to implement this section.
