PENALTY FOR CERTAIN TRANSACTIONS

Any person, seller, veteran, or appraiser who knowingly makes, utters, publishes, passes, or uses any false, fictitious, or forged paper, document, contract, affidavit, application, assignment, or other instrument in writing in connection with or pertaining to any transaction under this chapter is guilty of a felony and on conviction shall be punished by imprisonment in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for not less than two nor more than 10 years, or by a fine of not less than $1,000 nor more than $10,000, or by both.
