SHORT-TERM PRESCRIPTION

Known as the Contact Lens Prescription Act

The act spans §§ 353–353 (23 sections).

If a physician, optometrist, or therapeutic optometrist writes a contact lens prescription for a period of less than one year, the physician, optometrist, or therapeutic optometrist shall:

(1) give the patient a verbal explanation of the reason for the action at the time of the action; and

(2) maintain in the patient's records a written explanation of the reason.
