BOARD; MEMBERSHIP

Known as the Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Act

The act spans §§ 502–502 (32 sections).

(a) The Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists consists of nine members appointed by the governor with the advice and consent of the senate as follows:

(1) five marriage and family therapist members; and

(2) four members who represent the public.

(b) Appointments to the board shall be made without regard to the race, color, disability, sex, religion, age, or national origin of the appointee.

(c) In making appointments under Subsection (a)(1), the governor shall consider recommendations made by recognized professional associations of marriage and family therapists in this state.
