AUTOMATIC REVOCATION FOR CERTAIN SEX OFFENDERS AND TERRORISTS

(a) A driver's license is automatically revoked if the holder of the license:

(1) is subject to the registration requirements of Chapter 62 or 65, Code of Criminal Procedure; and

(2) fails to apply to the department for renewal of the license as required by Article 62.060, 62.2021, or 65.058, Code of Criminal Procedure, as applicable.

(b) The department may issue a driver's license to a person whose license is revoked under this section only if the person:

(1) applies for an original or renewal license under Section 521.272; and

(2) is otherwise qualified for the license.
