EXCEPTIONS TO CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENT FOR CERTAIN SERVICES

Known as the Public Utility Regulatory Act

A telecommunications utility is not required to obtain a certificate of convenience and necessity, a certificate of operating authority, or a service provider certificate of operating authority for:

(1) an interexchange telecommunications service;

(2) a nonswitched private line service;

(3) a shared tenant service;

(4) a specialized communications common carrier service;

(5) a commercial mobile service; or

(6) an operator service as defined by Section 55.081.
