Utah Code § 58-93-310

Identity cards -- Evidence of licensure

Enacted by Chapter 44, 2026 General Session; Effective 9/1/2026

(1) When the division issues a license under this chapter, the division shall:

(a) issue an identification card the design of which the division shall approve by rule in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act; and

(b) indicate on the identification card's face that the holder is licensed to act as a bail bond enforcement agent or bail bond recovery agent.

(2) The division shall issue an identification card under Section (1) without charge:

(a) to the licensee if the licensee is an individual; or

(b) to each licensed employee and contract employee if the licensee is a bail bond agency.

(3) An identification card issued under this section is evidence the licensee and the licensee's employees and contract employees are licensed under this chapter.

(4) Within five days after the day on which a license terminates for any reason, the licensee shall mail or deliver a card issued under Subsection (2)(a) to the division for cancellation.

(5) A licensed or contract employee shall return the identification card issued under Subsection (2)(b) upon termination of the licensed or contract employee's work relationship with the bail bond agency.

(6) A licensee shall carry the identification card issued under Subsection (1) while engaging in an activity regulated under this chapter.

(7) A licensee shall display the license upon the request of a peace officer, a representative of the division, or a member of the public.
